This website has grown from a few dozen articles on a couple of topics in 1992 to over 1,000 articles on a couple of dozen topics. It runs on a Microsoft Access database using Macromedia's "ColdFusion" to deliver the pages (hence the ".cfm" extension)
Every article is a table entry with a date, author key, keywords, and text. The author key is a pointer to a table of authors.
In response to complaints about the map interface, I added a "text-only" interface.
With this setup *YOU* and I can remotely add and update individual articles and users can search and obtain articles that more precisely meet their needs. Individual pages are smaller and load faster. |
