May 30, 2002 After having cycled in Germany with my own bike, I sought to buy a bike BOX from Northwest at Frankfurt airport to transport bike home to U.S.A. I was told that BOXes are not used for transatlantic flights. Bike would be accepted as is for checked luggage. I only had to deflate tires. It arrived in Detroit in good conditon. I was amazed. In all my international flights, this was the first time that packaging was not required. |
